In Burkina Faso, agricultural innovation is taking new forms to respond to the constraints of an environment increasingly marked by water stress and urbanisation. A pioneer of AgriTech, AgriMinga joins the Néré Capital portfolio under the CATAL1.5°T programme. This partnership opens a new stage in the company’s development, with the ambition of accelerating the deployment of soil-less cultivation solutions and smart greening adapted to the realities of the Sahel.
From a personal experiment to an AgriTech company
AgriMinga’s story begins in 2017, with an experiment carried out by Josias Wendinda Kéré. Without a business plan or financing, he set out to design hydroponic growing systems himself from PVC pipes.
Behind this first experience lies a conviction: in a Sahelian context confronted with water stress, growing urbanisation and food security challenges, traditional agricultural models must evolve to meet the challenges ahead.
It is from this conviction that AgriMinga was born. The company gradually specialised in the design and installation of soil-less cultivation greenhouses, urban greening — notably through its modular green walls — as well as in the development of technological solutions for smarter, more sustainable agriculture.
The solutions developed by the company show significant performances. According to data presented by AgriMinga, its soil-less cultivation systems reduce water consumption by 70 to 90% compared with old practices, and can multiply yields fivefold thanks to vertical farming. Its green walls also contribute to the passive cooling of spaces, with a drop of up to 5°C, while participating in CO₂ capture.
Support to scale up

AgriMinga’s entry into the Néré Capital portfolio, under the CATAL1.5°T programme, comes at a strategic moment in its development.
The aim is to enable the company to consolidate its foundations and take a new step in scaling up. The support will focus on three dimensions.
First, strengthening the production tool. AgriMinga notably plans to acquire equipment dedicated to the manufacture and installation of modular green walls. This evolution should enable it to reduce lead times and better respond to growing commercial demand.
Next, structuring the organisation. The support will make it possible to formalise internal processes, strengthen the team and put in place financial and operational monitoring tools meeting the requirements of a phase of accelerated growth.
Finally, technological development. AgriMinga intends to continue improving its digital platform for monitoring installations. The objective is to strengthen the steering and performance of its solutions, while preparing the development of new services, particularly in the field of maintenance.
Agricultural innovation in the service of climate resilience

Beyond the support, this partnership reflects a shared vision of tomorrow’s agriculture.
In Sahelian territories, where water availability is a major issue, agricultural solutions must be able to combine resource efficiency, productive performance and economic viability.
This is precisely the ground on which AgriMinga intends to position itself. By developing soil-less cultivation and smart greening solutions, the company seeks to provide concrete answers to the challenges linked to water, food, and the adaptation of cities and territories to the effects of climate change.
For Néré Capital, supporting AgriMinga is part of a broader approach: identifying and supporting companies capable of turning environmental challenges into lasting economic and social opportunities.
A new stage for AgriMinga
After several years of experimentation and development in the field, AgriMinga is today entering a new phase of its history.
The support of Néré Capital and the CATAL1.5°T programme should enable it to strengthen its capacities, structure its growth and accelerate the deployment of its solutions.
The ambition is clear: to bring forth, from Burkina Faso, AgriTech solutions capable of contributing to an agriculture that is more resource-efficient, more productive and better adapted to the climate realities of West Africa.
Through this partnership, Néré Capital reaffirms its determination to invest in innovative companies whose models help build more resilient economies and a more sustainable future.
About CATAL1.5°T
CATAL1.5°T is an acceleration programme dedicated to African SMEs and startups committed to the fight against climate change. Funded by the Green Climate Fund (GCF) and BMZ, the programme offers seed financing as well as strategic and technical support designed to help companies structure their growth and maximise their impact.
The programme is carried by GIZ, Climate-KIC and I&P, in partnership with Néré Capital, Comoé Capital and Teranga Capital. It targets companies active in energy access, sustainable mobility, energy efficiency and resource management.
